Inbox Repair Tool fails halfway

when I try to access my personal folder in Outlook, unable to display the
folder and directed to use the Inbox Repair Tool. Tried doing so (Internet
Version) but it fails half way (4th stage Checking File Consistency). The
meesage that comes is "An error is occurred which caused the scan to be
stopped. No changes were made to the scanned file.
 
Run it from your computer instead. New security & firewalls might prevent
running it from the Internet. Look up Inbox Repair Tool in Help for
directions.
 
Mary, Thanks for the response. I found the answer in an earlier posting as
my folder had exceeded 2 GB. I truncated the same using the required download.

This is great as far as shring of knowledge goes!
