Outlook 2007 not opening

When trying to open Office Outlook 2007I get the message
" Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window.
The set of folders cannot be opened. Errors have been detected in the file.
C:\Users\Michael\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook1.pst
Quit Outlook and all mail enabled applications and then use the Inbox repair
tool (Scanpst.exe) to diagnose and repair errors in the file. For more
information about the Inbox repair tool, see Help"

When I use Scanpst after it runs phase 6 0f 8 it crashes with the message"An
error has occurred which caused the scan to be stopped. No changes have been
made to the scanned file"

Now what do I do?

Was this data file one created by OL2007, or was it one created by a
previous version? If so what is its size?
Have you run chkdsk?
Did you try scanpst.exe several times.?
Presumably you have no backup?
There are third party, pay for, repair tools. I believe some have a try
before you buy in that it will report as to whether anything can be
recovered.

You can use the Mail Applet in the Control Panel to add a new data file, set
it as default and remove the old data file (This will not delete it) You can
then use outlook

Thank you. I did try Scanpst 3 times w/ same results. I added a new Data File and will try to find a way to move the info from the old file.
