inbox only sorts by received

Using Outlook 2003 on Win XP Pro

I can only see my inbox emails if sorted by Received. If I try to sort by
any other field I get the "message interface has returned an unknown error"
message and an empty inbox.

I have no rules in effect and there are no filters. Any ideas?
Thanks
Ed

I'd try a Help>Detect and Repair and a scanpst.

I am sorry. This problem is on a computer running MS Outlook 2007 running on
Vista Business!

I checked and there are no filters.
Also pst size is 560MB not too large

All emails are in inbox. Just cannot sort by anything else but Received.
Error message and emails disappear.
Thanks
Ed

Sorry, it is Outlook 2007 and Vista Business.
No filters in effect - I cleared all filters just in case.
Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Sorry. It is Outlook 2007 and Vista Business.

How do I scanpst?

Look on Start>Microsoft Office>Microsoft Office Tools for "Inbox Repair
Tool". If you don' thave that menu item, run %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft
Office\Office12\scanpst.exe
