Inability to successfully download an "update"

KB832483 - I've downloaded this update a number of times
and it keeps showing up as an update that still needs to
be downloaded. What should I do? Thanks.

Make sure you have one of the following versions of MDAC on your machine.
MDAC 2.5 Service Pack 2
MDAC 2.5 Service Pack 3
MDAC 2.6 Service Pack 2
MDAC 2.7
MDAC 2.7 Service Pack 1
MDAC 2.7 Service Pack 1 Refresh
MDAC 2.8

The update patch is only able to upgrade the versions listed above. The
easiest thing to do is upgrade to a newer version of MDAC. This should
allow the patch to install.

Thanks, IBTerry. I downloaded MDAC 2.8 and then the
update. It appears to have worked.
