In Word, how to delete item both in 'Save as' and 'Save as Web'

Trying out WORD in Vista on Acer Laptop.

Wrote an article and saved it in 'Save as' and also in 'Save as Web...'.

Later, wanted to delete the word 'Over' in title of article and insert
'About' instead.

Result: 1...When File Menu is opened there are 4 items at bottom of which 3
have the word 'Over' and one the word 'About'.
2...When 'Open' is pressed the title of article appears, at
times, as a 'saved' item and does NOT appear at other times ... [Am not sure
of my actions, here]

I would like to know : 1...How to delete the items that appear at bottom of
the File Menu?
: 2...Do these 4 items occupy space in my
Hard Disk?

My ultimate intention is to 'have a free Hard Disk' and save all my
ramblings in either Hotmail or Gmail or elsewhere other than my computer.

Thank you,

If you save files, then of course the saved files take up disc space.

As for the recent file list, these entries are stored in the registry

If you want to delete them all then set tools > options > general > recently
used files to 0, confirm the change, then change it back to the number it
was previously.

If you want to selectively delete, then it gets altogether more complicated,
but friend and fellow MVP Greg Maxey has done all the work - see

You can use Ctrl+Alt+Hyphen to selectively delete files from the MRU list in
versions before Word 2007.
