Displaying both Word 97-03 and .docx in "Save As"

I just switched from Office '03 to '07. All of my old documents are saved in
'03 format. I'm frustrated because when I click "save as," Word only displays
the files that are in '07 format. As I choose a name for my new document, I
want to be able to see all the other word files in that folder.
When I choose "open file" it shows all types of Word docs - how can I get it
to show them all when I click "save as"?

You can't! Why should this create a problem?
It was not possible to do so in Word 2003 either.
Only the document type of the format you are currently trying to save as
will be displayed.
If you want to see 97-2003 format documents listed, change the save-as file
type to 97-2003

Note that you can see all the files in a folder by clicking on the
Open button under the Office button. At the bottom is a dropdown where
you choose which file format you want to see to be able to choose what
to open, and the top one is "All Files." Cancel the Open panel and go
back to Save As to change the name and/or format of your file. (As
Graham says, even if the filename of a .doc is the same as the
filename of a .docx, the .docx won't replace the .doc, it'll go in the
folder alongside it.)

It's only a problem because when choosing a file name it's nice to quickly
see the other file names I've already used. I just wanted to check to make
sure it wasn't possible, and you answered the question. Thank you.
