Unable to open attachments or links from Windows mail

1) When trying to click on a link I get the following Message :

There was a problem sending the command to the program

It was working fine two weeks ago, has a windows update caused it. More
important any ideas how can I put it right.

Kind regards

Harry

Could you give us a sample of such a link?

Note that in the new message window of Windows Mail, links aren't
supposed to work, since that would interfere with being able to
correct any mistakes in entering the link correctly.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the reply, but :

If I click on any text or graphic link. I do not get anwhere, it simply
displays a box saying "There was a problem sending the command to the program"

Kind regards

Harry

My mom is apparently having the same problem... she reports that links in
emails don't work.

Open the Default Programs applet, which you can access either from
the Start menu or via the Control Panel, then click the first item:
"Set your default programs."
After a few seconds, a list of programs comes up. Click on "Internet
Explorer". If it doesn't respond with "This program has all its defaults"
then fix it by clicking on the option indicated by the first green arrow.
