In relation to preparing many word doc with image using mail merge

I have to create many more than 500 word file using file name from excel
database. The word files will contain some data from the excel file & a
screen shot, what is the best way to fo it.

This sounds like a job for a letter mail merge,

into the separate files using the add-in at
http://www.gmayor.com/individual_merge_letters.htm .
The screen shot may be an issue. How to handle it depends whether you have
the same screenshot in the documents or a different one in each. The first
is easy - the second will depend on how you determine which graphic to
