mail merge word 2007

I am trying to merge fields from an excel database into a word document. All
is going well except that the numbers have extra decimal spaces when they
appear in the word doc. eg in excel $49.33, in word $49.3300000000000. I
have tried changing the excel document to different number types eg general,
accounting, text, number but nothing seems to work. Any Ideas?
