In PP can slides be different sizes? e.g. A3 & A4?

Yes, - but a presentation will always be one size. You cannot mix and match
two sizes in one presentation.

I find it's best to design at A4, then if you need to print at A3, get your
"printer driver/properties" to scale it up to fit to A3.

As A4 and A3 and all the 'a's' are in the same proportion there will be now
problemos'
