I have a powerpoint presentation where the first slide is a collage of fading
and appearing photographs. I want that slide to continue running until I'm
ready to move on to the presentation. Can you help me?

Set up the animations on slide one and make sure it has an automatic transition
In slide show > custom shows make two new custom shows

1. The first slide only - custom show 1
2. Everything else - custom show 2

On the first slide place an action button to hyperlink to custom show 2
In slide show > set up show choose
"loop until esc" and
"show slides" > custom show 1

When you start the show the first slide should loop until you click the
button. Note that the main show will also loop unless you add an end show
button

Hi John
I have set up the two custom shows.
My hyperlink between shows works beautifully

what isn't happening yet - is that i haven't gotten the first slide to loop
back to the beginning.

I have set the two parameters as you described - and the first slide show
rotates all the photographs until it gets to the last one - then it sits
there - and waits for me to click the mouse - at which point it dutifully
starts rotating again ...

Do you have any ideas John?

And i really appreciate what i have learned so far - thank you!!!

Select the first slide
Slide show >slide transition
Tick the box that says Advance slide > Automatically after 0 secs
DO NOT click apply to all slides.

Run the show see if it works
