in outline format, body text appears truncated. How do I reset?

sentences in outline format body text are displayed shortened, with ...
instead of the rest of the sentence. This has never happened before. How do I
get rid of this?

In the Outlining toolbar, look for the "Show first line only" tool. It's
near the middle, between the Show Level and Show Formatting tools.
