The first time I have tried this but if anyone can help I would appreciate
it greatly.
The problems;
1. I receive mail (and send) without any problem. However if I do not send
received mail items to the "Deleted Items" folder they disappears from any
subsequent opening of the "Inbox." A case of read it once and then it is
gone forever.
Paradoxically, deleting new items is the only way to save them as unlike the
"Inbox", "Deleted Items" are retained for future viewing.
2. A small icon on the lower left hand side of the screen, visible only on
start up and before entering the password offers to increase contrast for
easier viewing. I thought I would try it and found that it turns my mail
screen black with white lettering. I would like to have the choice of
returning to the original format but can't seem to find the correct method.
Thanks for reading,

1. under tools/junk mail options make sure the "automatically delete
suspected junk mail instead of moving it to junk mail folder" is not
checked. also make sure there are no "rules" set up in the "message" area of
the toolbar that is causing automatic complete deletion after reading.
2. for the contrast problem check "control center"/"ease of access" folder
to see if any general contrast options have been set up. i could not find
any option speciffically in vista mail to adjust contrast just for that
program.

Click on the Inbox, then View, then Current View, then Show All Messages.
Now messages you've read and not moved should be visible.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with that.
