impossible to install drivers

Hi everybody,
first of all, excuse me for my english; I'm a catalan

I have an aspire 5610. A few days ago, the OS don't work correctly and
required me the xp's cd. Then, the some drivers have disappeared.
When i try to install again from http://support.acer-euro.com/, any is ok.
I've intalled all drivers for this model (5610) which give me acer, and I can
never intall them.

There are (in this moment) 4 drivers to install: the ethernet and the
wireless, and the 945 express chipset, and SM bus controller.

Can you help me?

Thank you very much

Why get youre drivers/software from those people, since you run intel
hardware,go to intel.com,downloads,locate the updated drivers from them...

Because if one has an OEM machine like the OP does, getting drivers from the
OEM is the right place to do it. Most OEMs have proprietary hardware made
for them.

What happens when you try? Do you get any error messages? Please quote them
as exactly as you can. I understand that you'll need to translate them into
English. Or you can post to the Spanish newsgroup instead. Find one for XP
with .es in its name here:

You say that this problem occurred a few days ago. What happened? What
changed? I would do a hard drive diagnosis using the hard drive mftr.'s
diagnostic utility. If the drive fails any physical tests, it needs to be
replaced.

Hi again,
the notebook doesn't give me any error. It requieres w39n51.sys which i've
download from intel.com with another drivers...
When the wizard ends, its tell me "CAnnot install this hardware". An error
ocurred durgin the installations of the device. The data is invalid

And this error is the same for ethernet, wireless and for another device
which i test (lan - USB)

I could re-install the SO, but, will it resolve the problem? Will Can i to
install the drivers then?

I don't know what happened because the notebook is not main. A friend
requiered me for help

Thank you very much

It sounds like you've got the wrong drivers. You don't want to get drivers
from Intel for a laptop; you always want to get drivers from the laptop
mftr.'s website for that specific model laptop. OEMs (Dell, HP, Sager,
etc.) usually have proprietary hardware in them.

So go to the laptop OEM's website to get drivers and any laptop-specific
software you need.

There was a recent thread, discussing "the data is invalid". George Yin(MSFT)
has a couple suggestions.
