Importing from OE 6

I have followed Microsoft's instructions for creating a "backup" file from my
folders on Outlook Express 6 that is running on Windows XP SP3. I copy it to
a flash drive and then attempt to Import it into Windows Live Mail on a
laptop running Windows 7. I've tried multiple times but get the message "No
messages can be found in this folder........."

I know the .dbx file is there. Anything I can do?

You can't import directly from external media. Copy the DBX files
to an empty folder under your profile, then import from there.

Incidentally, the newsgroup to which you posted is dedicated to
supporting the Windows Mail program. WLM questions should be

Follow the directions here exactly: www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx The
instructions and bugs should equally apply to WalMail, as MS doesn't fix
bugs in those products.
