importing DVD to Windows Movie Maker

I have a panasonic DVD camcorder and I used a DVD-R and finalized the disc.
I can play the video on my computer. However, I can't import into the movie
maker. How do I convert it over to a supported file type such as: .asf,
..avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv ?
