Importing contacts from messenger

Is there a way to import contacts from Windows Live Messenger to Windows
Mail? I can't seem to find a common file format; my contact information is
saved as .ctt which doesn't seem to be compatible with Windows Mail import
formats? Can I change the format?

Windows Live Messenger will only share contacts with Windows Live Mail.
