Importing contacts from another application using a custom form

Guest

I have created and published a custom form and it works fine - eg. when creating new contacts etc

However, when I import contacts that were generated by a business card scanning program, Outlook assigns the message class "IPM.Contact.OlTrans"

I have already used Forms Administrator to point the existing IPM.Contact message class to the custom form, but there is no option to change the "IPM.Contact.OlTrans"

How do I change this "IPM.Contact.OlTrans" to use my custom form

Thanks.

You need to change the MessageClass on the existing items to point to your
new form's class. See
http://www.outlookcode.com/d/newdefaultform.htm#convert for several tools
and scripts to accomplish this.
