Import problem with HDV

I'm using sony HDR-HC3. When I import video, WMM cost long time to creat temp
file and can not success in putting the file into WMM timeline, WMM just give
error message"Windows Movies Maker has stopped "(I can find the temp file
named with .dvr-ms_tmp in folder later). Same error when I just try to drag
and drop the temp file into WMM window.
Does anybody have same expierence?

MM 2.1 is not compatible with hdv files. You need to down convert to sd
dv.avi or wmv files to use them in MM. Or upgrade to Vista, wehre it should
work.

Sorry I forgot telling about my OS. I am using Vista Ultimate and WMM6.0.
But I still just can not capture the HDV movie even disable every third
filter.

As I don't have an hdv cam to try to replicate the problem, can I suggest
