import OE emails from CDR to Outlook 2003

When still using 98se, I saved email and subfolders from Outlook Express to a
CD, just before my HD dumped. I'm now on XP and a new drive and am trying to
get it loaded into Outlook 2003. I tried hunting down the folder with the
..dbx files but dropping everything there doesn't work. Do I copy these to and
OE folder or straight to and Outlook folder? Any tricks I have to do because
I'm on XP now? Thanks in advance.

Use File>Import from OE. Once done then open Outlook and import them there.

Did you include folders.dbx?
Where you using OE 5 or 6?
There are a few more steps needed.
Move the OE files to a folder on the hard drive. (Not the OE Store Folder.)
Highlight all files and remove the Read Only attribute.
In OE, File, Import, Messages, OE6, OE Store Folder, browse to the hard
drive folder, .....
Close OE.
Open Outlook, import.......
