Import Messages from Outlook 2003 into Microsoft Mail

When using the Import function in MS Mail.... The import function says
"Messages cannot be imported from the MAPI client" How do I import from MS
Outlook 03 to MS mail? and get around this problem in dealing with a .pst
file. Should I export to a CSV file or other format? And if I do then will
some data be lost?
Thanks for your help in advance.
 
To directly import an Outlook .pst file, you must first install Outlook on
the Vista computer.
Then you may as well continue using Outlook.
