Import issues of pst files from Office 2003 to Office XP

I exported my Outlook contacts and calendar using the Office Outlook 2003
wizard to the shared drive of the computer I update my PDA on which has
Office XP. Office XP Outlook did not recognize the incoming "pst" file and
directed me to my administrator. Is there a way to create an older version
"pst" for Office XP? I'm trying to avoid reinstall of downloaded PDA
applications from the older computer to the new computer.
