Import information into contact list

Hi - I have over 500 names and e-mails in an excel spreadsheet that I want to
import into contacts in outlook. Can this be done or do I have to cut and
paste each name and e-mail individually into the contact area? I am a novice
when it comes to this stuff. I have Windows XP. Thanks
 
Yes go to file import and export. Choose import from another program click
next and choose Excel. Make sure you a header row that matches the field
name in an Outlook contact (ie. email - email). If not it won't work
