Import contacts from Excel file

Darren

I've been looking on the internet for tutorials to import csv contacts
into Outlook 12.

1) I have changed all the column headers to;
CustName;Company;Street1..etc

2) Saved the Excel document as a .xls file and closed it down.

3) Imported the xls file into Outlook and correctly Mapped the xls
headers to the rightful Outlook fields.

4) Import starts and populates 10% of the TOWN fields, but doesn't
appear to import any more.

5) The Import window continunes to suggest its importing, however
after 1hr Outlook errors and restarts without filling all the fields.

Im importing 997 rows each with 11 fields.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Darren

Apparently you need to name the range if you are importing from an xls
file. if you do a Save-As and save it as a CSV file, (which an xls file
IS NOT) then you don't need a named range...

Ahh, I see. I was actually wondering if I was expected to select the
range first. I will try both for reference.
