Import contacts and email address is blank

Hi all,

I have exported my contacts in Outlook 2003 in excel format from one machine
and tried to import on another using default matching and manual matching.
All the data seems to come through fine except for the email address. - They
are all blank.

Also tried in .CSV (on importing) and this also fails to import the email
address. - any help?

You should NOT export/import, copy the pst file from machine 1 and put it on
machine 2 and open it up in Outlook and drag info between personal folders

Hi,

Could you please explain (other than I am obviously not getting all the
contact details through at the moment) why you shouldn't export/import your
contact detail when Microsoft have a tool for you to do it?
I also want to use the export (which has all the data) to update a webmail
as well and do a mass kul and update of my current contacts (i.e. add
birthdays and phone numbers and address's I now have). If the import function
worked correctly then I could happily do a mass update to my contacts in
excel and update all my lists from the one sorce.

I don't know any of the technical details but if you are going from Outlook
to Outlook always do it by copying .pst and then opening it and dragging.
If you are going from Outlook to some other type of database/file then do
the export/import
