import archive post file

I read in a prior post to rename my old outlook.pst file and then go and open
it in outlook and drag and drop my old email into the new pst file so that I
retrieve lost emails. When I do this I get that this file is incompatible
with personal folders information services...? Can someone please help me
with retrieving archived data that I salvaged when my old hard drive blew?

Not without more information. State the instructions you were following so
we can shoot its perpetrator and ban their posts from this group. Renaming
an Outlook Data file is and never has been the solution for anything.
Instead it is a guarantee for profile corruption.
State more clearly the problems you are having, your Outlook version, and
what you have done so far to try to correct it. Tell us how well you back up
your Outlook data.
