A friend reported to me that his taskbar had moved from the bottom to the
right-hand side.

I told him to left-click in any blue area and simply drag it to the bottom
whilst holding the left button down - but it wouldn't budge.

So I told him to right-click to see if the taskbar was locked but it wasn't.

I have run out of ideas - any help will be appreciated!

tell your friend to RIGHT click on any empty space on Taskbar. UNCHECK
"Lock the Taskbar" and then it will move.

Here are two things to try:

- Booting into Safe mode and then booting normally should reset the task
bar to its default size and position.

- Right-click the Start button, click Properties, Customize, Advanced,
Enable dragging and dropping. You may have to reboot. (I have my
doubts about this one though.)
