imbedded color profile makes file look wrong in filmstrip view wit

I edit photos in Photoshop using the Adobe RGP color profile. If I save the
file without the color profile imbedded, it looks the same in windows
xp-pro's filmstrip view as it does in Photoshop. However, if I save the file
WITH the color profile imbedded, it looks wrong in the filmstrip view (and
slideshow). Can windows folder views (filmstrip & slideshow) not work with
color profiles, or is there a way to set them so they can?

Unfortunately there is no way to set this for Window Picture and Fax viewer
(or setting it for any other viewer), if the software itself (like
Photoshop) is not color profile aware.

What do you mean by saying if the software itself is not color profile aware?
Photoshop certainly works with color profiles, so isn't it color profile
aware? Thank you-

Many of the better photo related programs can use or ignore, add or remove
color correction or profile information associated with a picture.
Inconsistent usage causes more problems than it's worth.

Yes, Photoshop is obviously color profile aware and reads the embedded Adobe
RGB color profile.
However, not all photo editing/photo viewing software can do this and
Windows Picture and Fax viewer is not capable of doing this.
