Imaging for Windows XP

Windows used to come with an imaging application that originally just let
you work with those big but quite good TIFF files. Alas, though this
imaging app is no more with Windows XP.

Does anyone have or know of a freebie similar to this application which,
incidentally, one can now purchase for a mere $160.
