Imaging devices driver category deleted

I accidentally removed the imaging devices - scanners and
cameras - driver category, and now Windows XP will not
recognise my scanner - it is put under USB hubs as an
unknown device. Do I need to reinstall Windows XP (I've
tried upgrade) or is there an easier fix to re-establish
the imaging devices category?
