Try this.
Right click the Start button, select Properties, click the Customize
button, click the Advanced tab, place a check mark in the box for Help
and Support, Run command and Search. Click OK, click Apply, click OK.

Apply | OK
Reboot.
Then go back and replace the check marks for Help and Support, Run Command
and Search.
Do a Search for IconCache.db and delete it. IconCache.db will be
recreated after you reboot.
IconCache.db is a hidden file.
IconCache.db usually found here >>>
%userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data
or
C:\Documents and Settings\Username Here\Local Settings\Application Data
