Image quality problems in browser

I have a brand new PC with Internet Explorer 6. All images (gif, jpeg) on all Web pages are being displayed very blurry and blocky. It reminds me of the old settings in AOL where you could choose that images were displayed in low quality to save on download time. I've never seen this problem in IE before, and can't find any settings to change the image display quality to be normal. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem! A friend said to try updating the
video card or something.

See the posts on 6/9/04 on Blurry Graphics. You need to change the UseHR value using regedit. There are instructions on those posts on how to do this.
