Image problem: Images appear grey when opening in 2003

I am using the screen capture from my computer and copy/paste the image to my
ppt. I am using ppt 2007 but have saved it as 2003 ppt, not a pptx. The
images look fine on my computer but when I send them to others and they open
with 2003, the images are all grey. What is going on and how do I fix and set
my ppt to perform this fix by default.
Thanks

I have used print screen, Capture image from my app, and another app called
CLIP. None worked. However, if I save the image as a jpeg then insert the
image, it works. I read something about embedded coding but there was no
solution to it.

I've seen this a few times usually with a png file. I don't know what causes
it but cut / paste special as jpg seems to often work so I guess some sort
of tranparency issue. All three of my examples worked in 20-07 but not in
2003 SP3

Dumb suggestion, maybe, but see if setting a color printer driver as your
default printer fixes it. Someone posted elsewhere recently that Excel
charts pasted into PPT were black and white, and this seemed to fix it for
him. (Similar to pasting colored Excel data, but I'd never heard of it with
charts before....)
