PowerPoint from PC to Mac, images don't show up?

I'm working with a file and sharing it with some folks. I am on a PC
and they are on a Mac. Something that keeps coming up is that certain
images, and sometimes all the images (jpgs of royalty-free images)
sometimes don't show up on the Mac side.

I'm using PPT 2003. The Mac people (I think) are using PPT 2008 for
the Mac. No problems opening and sharing files except for the images.

At one point, one of the Mac people were using a PC with PPT 2007 (and
saving it down for sharing with me since I'm on 2003). At that time,
the only one having trouble viewing the images was the other Mac
person.

Is it a jpeg issue? Mac to PC issue? PPT version issue?

I keep troubleshooting like a detective but so far not coming up with
any solution.

(p.s. thanks to all in this forum for tolerating my constant questions
as of late)

Did you copy and paste image, or did you Insert > Picture > From File.
Try the latter and see if that helps.

they had been inserted by simply dragging and dropping. inserting them
the "right" way (as you pointed out) seems to have done the trick!
thanks David! and thanks Steve. I love this newsgroup!!!!!!!!
