Hello

I finaly got the ploblem, but i haven't got it fix.

so here is the problem:

about 3 weeks ago i was rendering in Maya and My computer
crashed, With that i had to switch the power off. With
out knowing i had Internet Explorer on at that time it
crashed, stupid me :P.

when i switch on my computer i started getting this error
that an exception occurred while trying to run
explorer.exe and that the code for explorer and
msvcrt.dll was not working. I talk to your Newsgroup
about that, and i dl the file to convert the old
msvcrt.dll to a new msvcrt.dll but windows wouldn't let
me because a program was running, maybe Explorer. so out
of luck. so with this error i have no icons and no start
taskbar, just my Desktop Background :(.

the next day i turned on my computer and the error was
gone, but something strange happen. I still didn't have
icons and taskbar, but my Windows---Explorer are merged
together, it must be a safety thing with XP to start up
the computer :D. At first i thought it was a virus, but
i did a virus scan and no virus was inside my computer.

I went to other sites about this problem to see what they
had to say and that one of the site told someone that
Explorer was damaged and that i should run---and type in
Explorer to get everything back. I tried it , and with
luck it came in for a few seconds and then my taskbar and
icons were out of site. -_-` I'm about to CRY!!!!

Now comes Today. I'm finding that my hard drive is
slowly going down in memory.

so now i'm stuck. I've done everything in the book.

I have no XP disk, no SP1(SP1a) disk, went to regen and
look to see if there is any virus. Nothing work.

It has to be a softwear problems

i'm just thinking about a high system recovery, but i got
alot of stuff i don't want to delete. Backing up will be
to overwelming

i understand the problem, but i can't correct it.

Please help.

The answer is to format the hard drive, clean install Windows, (and if
you don't have a disk you will have to buy one - surely if you can
afford a legal copy of Maya you can afford to buy XP), reinstall
programs from cd's, restore data from backups. If you can't do this
yourself, I don't know why you think posting to a newsgroup will be
useful. Take your computer to a local computer repair shop (not a Best
Buy or CompUSA type of store), have them rescue your data and fix your
computer.
