I'm a Dad now...

It is worth considering the taking the mickey aspect of names. Me sister is called Ina and she was born when Coronation Street first aired. So looking at from that aspect I personally would not call a child "Is a Bell" , not as a first name anyway.

:fool:

Ha yes, we have been doing just that too. I've come to the conclusion that kids will find a way to take the **** what ever!

I did quite well on the no mickey taking cos of me first name for some time. Then Monty Python brought this out,

Best of luck with the naming :thumb:

Yeah Isabel seems far more common, that's the main reason she likes Isobel. Just to be different!
Well you wanted to go even further down the uncommon route you could try Ysabel / Yzabelle maybe.

Names are hard, one is stuck with them for such a long time. :D

Congratulations! (Sorry for the tardiness - have just seen this!)

Our second child was born just under 3 weeks ago - like you we had a girl so we have one of each now!

She also come out the sunroof - I'm sure you'll agree it's a hugely humbling experience being in theatre and seeing our NHS at work. Our son was an emergency section, and our daughter a planned section.

A couple of my thoughts... although I'm sure you've got much of this sussed by now ;)
  • However many nappies and wipes you think you need, you are wrong
  • Subscribe to all of the above on Amazon, it works out cheaper
  • Disposable incontinence pads from are the best invention ever for nappy changes etc HERE
  • Socialise the baby as early as possible - groups, friends etc. Nursery makes a huge difference to early development and would highly recommend
  • Enjoy! It's an amazing time.
Congratulations again!!

Thanks! Yeah mate, I know what you mean, as I said, the NHS are in my opinion hugely under appreciated.

Yeah I've bulk bought nappies and wipes! Although I'm tentative with the nappies as she's in 0's at the moment because she is tiny, so I don't want to be left with loads when she grows out of them.
We have a changing mat and one that comes with the bag, but I'll keep the pads idea in mind, sounds like a good idea.
Socialising will be no problem, we can't keep people away!

Its be an adventure that's for sure! :thumb:

We keep a bunch in the car in case of any car seat nappy explosions, and one of two in the changing bag to put on top of any changing mat. Newborns have a habit of poo'ing on anything and everything so if that happens we don't need to worry about cleaning our changing mat up and can just lob the mat in the bin.

Oh - another bit of advice - people will want to give you loads of advice. Don't feel pressured to follow it - go with what you think is right for you!

Ah, that actually makes sense. I'll add them to my basket.

Yes, yes they do! I'm speaking from experience!

Cheers pal. :)
