Illustrator CS Closes after initializing - WinXp SP2

Adobe Illustrator CS immediatley quits just as the GUI is loading. It worked
fine in Win2000 Pro, but since upgrading to XP SP2 it won't act right. (This
IS a new install, BTW). I followed the tips on Adobe's ONE page of general
help regarding general SP2 errors - no good. I have plenty of ram, plenty of
power, there's not a lot of stuff going on on my PC - Illustrator is one of
only two "intensive" programs installed on my computer, and I'm not running
them together. Let's get to the answer that comes AFTER the "computer
illiterate" suggestions (don't tell me to reformat my drive or uninstall my
OS and applications, or any of the other stupid suggestions given to people
on the assumption that they are too simple-minded to get it - give me the
respect of having a brain here - what is going on with WinXP and how can I
fix it? Thanks for your useful, applicable and WORKING response in advance.

answer within these parameters - Heathy system, has the requirements to run
the software and the OS, used Adobe advice, not computer stupid. Answer as if
wev'e been through all the bonehead suggestions already - I need advanced
advice here!

Well, the fact that there is no such word as "virii" should be testament to you simply getting as simple as advice as can be possibly given. IOWs, your demand for advanced answers will be ignored, considering your fückchop attempts at being a pedant!
