Illegal System DLL Relocation

I received the following error message when I started the computer today. It
is a new computer & the error seems to affect only the HP sound system (not
the Windows system):

"RTHDCPL.EXE Illegal System DLL Relocation

The system DLL user32.dll was relocated in memory. The application will not
run properly. The relocation occured because the DLL C:\Windows\System
32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address range reserved for Windows system DLLs.
The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL."

See if the following KB article helps:

The Realtek HD Audio Control Panel may not start, and you receive an error
message when you start the computer: "Illegal System DLL Relocation"

Hi Tom,

I receved a similar DLL relocation report today that concerns
C:\windows\system32.HHCTRL.OCX.

Can you suggest a solution?

Thanks

Dan.

Thanks Tom

I just downloaded the patch & will check to see if it worked once I reboot.
