IIS in XP Home

I need XP and IIS in order to do .NET programming (IIS
for the Mobile Internet Toolkit) but I've been told IIS
is only available with XP Pro. Is this true, and if so,
can I get IIS from somewhere else?

Also, why does there seem to be no full academic versions
of XP, only the upgrade edition? I do not want to upgrade
from 98se because of the bugs it causes.

Yes it's true - had you know that you should have gone with XP Pro from the
beginning; another example of someone not doing their homework (pun
intended).

1) Bugs are not caused - do you even know what a bug is?! A bug is an
attribute of a program where it behaves in a manner not specified by the
programmer. Therefore, you cannot 'cause' a bug by installing one OS over
another - a glitch yes, bug, no.

2) Why on earth do you require the full version - you can perform a clean
installation with an upgrade disc - just make sure you have a qualifying
product disc to hand to insert when asked.

XP Pro only.

You can do a clean install from the upgrade CD, inserting the 98 CD
when requested.

IIS will not run in XP Home, that's one of the things that
differentiate XP Home from XP Pro.

If you don't need to run ASP, you can use Apache web server, available
for free from http://httpd.apache.org/
