IEXPORE.exe

When I open up a webpage online, usine Windows 2000. I
usually get this error message, "IEXPLORE.exe has
generated errors and will be closed by Windows. An error
log is being created. Then it closes the window I just
openen. Very frustrating.
I tried what Microsoft online support said to do, to
remove Explorer 6 from the Add/Remove software in Control
Panel and then reinstall the Explorer, but it didn't seem
to help.
Sure could use some help. Thanks in advance.

These two article are for IE 5 but may give you some clues.

Iexplorer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
