not open. i think the command iexplorer.exe has somehow
been deleted, but i have no idea how this happened. i did
a search in files and folders for this command with no
success. i get a msg box saying "internet explorer is
having problems and will now shut down", before the

I have the same problem Jenni, it came on after downloading the last update patch and coincided with a trojan infection, so I am not sure what caused it. Iam still struggling with this problem I have tried to reinstall explorer but have not been able to do that successfull either

Jenni,
Most likely Kazza has infected your system with one or more Trojans!

Understanding and Troubleshooting Unrecoverable Errors (Faults) in IE
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=276393

The IE Error Report generates a "appcompat.txt" file.
This can usually be found in:

C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Temp\

Paste the contents (if found) in your next message.
