Iexplorer error on xp

I GET THE FOLLOWING POP UP ERROR IN WINXP.
I HAVE TO POWER OFF TO CLEAR.

Iexplore.exe Application Error

The instruction at "0x01a12e24" referenced memory
at "0x01ac8ebc".
The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate the program

When I click on ok the referenced memory # changes

"0x02873728"

Any help clearling this will be appreciated.
