iexplore.exe shutdown error

I have been having a shutdown problem with my computer for about a week and
am wondering if anyone else is experiencing similar problems or have any
solutions. I run windows XP home edition. Basically I have trouble opening
explorer, it sometimes takes a couple minutes to open or I have to click the
icon several times to get it to open. Once it is open all is usually OK ( it
does hang and freeze, but this seems to have gotton a bit les frequent and I
did get the blue screen once) but when I shutdown my computer, I get a
message saying end task-iexplore.exe and I have to manually click 'endnow'
before it will shutdown. Sometimes I have to click on this esveral times
before it shuts down, sometimes I have to turn it off at the wall.
I have checked out other forums and notice a few others aare having similar
problems but as yet there appear to be no solutions.
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks in advance

1) Check for spyware and viruses by using online scans (
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ )

2) Check your Event Viewer for error messages (Start...Control
Panel...Administrative Tools...Event Viewer) and post the contents of any
error messages that happened around the time of the explorer problems.

3) The next time you get the blue screen - copy down all the numbers and
letters in the STOP error code. And let us know if there's a file that's
referred to in the message also (and what the file's name is).

Good luck!

Thanks Usasma

I have soooo many error messages recently, but here are the most recent,
since I think the problems began.
I am sorry I am not technically minded but can see the bit down the bottom
that says data. Is that the part I need to copy, and should I do it in bytes
or words?
Thank you for your help and patience!

I have the same exact problem.
My computer is brand new and I have only put two programs on it....
Quicken the software to from my Netgear wireless router.
I am hoping I do not have to use system retore.
Have you heard anything other than the spyware suggestion?

Thanks.

Hi Elwood
My computer is only about 6 months old.
I have used system restore on this problem but it did not fix it!
Using system restore however is fully reversible if it does not work, so no
harm done there!
