IEEE1394 device not recognized

After installing the latest security updates to my XP
system, my Fuji S2 digital camera (IEEE1394) is no longer
recognized. The IEEE1394 adapter, according to Device
Manager, is working fine and there are no newer drivers
available for it (it uses the standard Microsoft driver
dated 2001).

Internet firewall is not enabled on the IEEE1394 network
connection.

This could be coincidental with a hardware failure of
some sort, but I'm dubious of that because the USB
downloading interface on the camera works fine (I need
the IEEE1394 "shooting" interface to work because the
camera is controlled by application software). The
IEEE1394 "download" interface also does not work.

You could try removing the security updates you recently installed to
see if that resolves the problem. You may be able to use system
restore to remove the updates.

You might also contact Fuji tech support to see if there is an issue
with the latest security updates. Also, do not use your real E-Mail
address when posting to a newsgroup as that may result in your
receiving SPAM and mail virus'.
