IE7 Lost Video Streaming capabilities

I lost video streaming a few days ago. I have spent over 20 hours and 70$
(HP tech support 42 minute Phone Call --3 minutes left on my $70 phone call
service), uninstalled & reistalled IE7,cleared caches, reset everything
resetable, followed NUMEROUS techies intructions, etc.,etc....Still no fix.
HP tech had me download firefox browser and I regained streaming (i.e. runs
on firefox browser) for some websites but not all (e.g. msnbc.com works, cnn
pipeline does not work). HP said maybe Windows got corrupted...but of course
who wants to go thru all that is required prior to & after reinstalling
Windows. I am still furious about this IE7 problem!!!!!

Does anyone know how to get IE7 to regain video streaming? Anybody else
with similar problems find workarounds?

I am running XP Pro

Video streaming is an IE Add-on. Look at Tools menu, Manage Add-on's,
Enable..."
You might have simply blocked the object.

I've encountered this. Turned out my Quicktime settings were
corrupt. I have removed Apple's "bloated" Quicktime and now use the
Quicktime Alternative.

Also, you may have to re-install Adobe Flash, Real Media and any other
streaming video controls.
