IE7 and WD

Hi Engel,

I think IE7 and WD work well together and I have had no problems with
current WD Beta and IE 7 (including ALL the betas).

IE7 - I do not think IE7 has been released via MU (Microsoft Updates) as of
this writing. I do think the MU release will happen in a few weeks; perhaps
on or about Nov. 1, 20006.

The IE7 download is simple. Just click on download. The download will
uninstall any previous version that resides on your system. Do check the
sites and readings suggested by MS prior to download.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx#ie7interface (IE 7 home
page and download IE7 - ck note at bottom of page on IE7 and WD)

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie7/about/sysreqs/default.mspx (system
requirements)

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...CB-0FAA-4A8E-B5D3-987DC654ACBB&displaylang=en (tech overview and download)

This has been my understanding and I trust someone will correct any errors
that I might have made (Bill please do so). The IE7 and WD Beta2 are working
well for me and thought others might like to know.

Hello dxer,

Hey dxer good for you.

I'm planing to wait a little longer before I take the option.

WD is been a good experience for my trying Betas, and looking to other users
I prefer to learn for their experience (pro or con) to be sure the road is
paved.

Take care and keep your experience shared in this newsgroup.

Good luck

Engel,

One additional note. This evening, on my home PC's, I received the yellow
shield and found the offering to download and install IE7.

" believe that IE7 won't be offered to folks not already running it until
November 1:"

And that is not the only place it will not be offered if you already have
it. This web site download link :

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx.

does not seem to offer you the option either - telling you, you already have
it. I haven`t noticed this before, or is it a new development?

Having said that, compare to this link where you can:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx

Bill,

Last evening (10/19) the yellow shield appeared on two PC's.

The PC that was already running IE7 RC1 exhibited notification to download
IE7 and download an update for WD. I have Microsoft Update (MU) set to notify
only.

The second PC is running IE6 and received notification to update WD only.
Like the first PC I have MU set to notify only.
