IE6

Can someone tell me how to remove IE7 (GOD DAMN THAT SOFTWARE SUCKS ASS)
and install IE6 in Vista? I cannot and will not use IE7. It is the
worst software MS has ever released. I prefer to start using Vista but
can't do so until someone gets a hack to allow use of the FAR superior
IE6 with it. Thanks!

Now, now simmer down.

Are you aware of some of the security features that IE 7 has that IE 6
lacks? I got IE 7 pretty machine working with the look and feel of IE 6.

So what's the problem?

Hi,
I suspect that you simply wanted to rant, but there might be solutions
available for your IE7 issues, if you were to post those specific issues.

That sure is gonna get you lots of support... ;-)

If you don't like IE7, then say what's wrong ( a bit more tactfully) and
someone will help you.

You could always (gasp) use FireFox.....

FWIW - IE6 runs quite nicely on Linux under WINE. But, IMHO, you'd
probably be better off with FireFox.

BLAH BLAH BLAH security my ass. IE7 is bloatware that has lots of glitz
and fluff and no added power. Lots of things changed merely for the
sake of change. MS deemed it that we as users dont know how we want to
use our browser and thus moved many things for no reason what so ever
and then locked those in the new 'better and improved' place. Most of
what was added was redundant and useless (search box etc). All that
aside, IE6 is a much cleaner and simpler interface. Besides WHY I want
to use it is 100% irrelevant. Fact is that I and many other like it and
think that IE7 blows donkey balls. So again I am asking that when
someone gets the hack done to use IE6 in Vista let me know please. I
know someone will get it eventually...

IE7 is a breeze to use. Who would want to go back to IE6 except for you?

Anyone who doesnt like glitzy fluffy software that has no added power
but lots of useless overhead passed off as new and improved. Who would
want to be a **** head and respond to a request when they have no idea
as to the answer except for a cum swallower like you?

My issue is that IE7 sucks. It adds a lot of fluff and glitz and
useless wasted overhead. It moves things around where they dont belong
for no reason what so ever (but often passed off as security). It locks
objects to where I cant move them. Its just a horrid interface overall.

The whole of IE7 is horrid. Its overall interface is all fluff and
glitz. Its all looks and no power. Everything they added is redundant
at best and useless at worst. Many things moved form the windows
standard that have been in place since the first days of windows and did
so for no reason at all other than MS being able to say "look at what we
changed". Then they locked the changes and let the user have no control
over how to use the software. IE6 is MUCH cleaner and simpler. I am
sure eventually someone will get the hack written. IE6 is the best
browser on the market. Its ashamed MS has started coding so that the
look and feel, fluff and glitz is the most important thing and NOT the
actually day to day use of the software.

**** firefox, I only asked how to run IE6 in Vista. FF is just as
glitzy and useless as IE7. In fact IE7 looks like its a poor attempt at
a firefox rip off.

LOL, LOL, and LOL, some of the people that post to NG are really demented.
You need more than IE6. You should seek help. :)

So let me get this straight. IE7 is "all fluff and glitzy with no
added power and an horrid interface", so you want to run IE6
on.............wait for it...............Vista?

Do you realize how idiotic that sounds?

IAC, you can't install IE6 on Vista. Get used to IE7, or use Firefox
or Safari or something. IE6 is possibly the worst browser you could
choose at this point in time, however.

Good luck with your twisted view of things.

Are you talking about the same IE6 that had umpteen "patches" released to
plug up it's umpteen security holes? Yeah? Well good luck with that.

There is no such thing as cant in the computer world. Only closed
minded people who have limited ability to think. It took a while to
turn off all the fluff and glitz of Vista and have get rid of all the
annoying "are you really really sure" warnings that MS passes off as
added security. Im sure eventually someone will come up with the hack
to allow this. Far too many people want to do this to have it go
unsolved for too long. Thanks for your narrow minded response though.

So its a BAD thing that MS addresses known weaknesses? You would feel
better if they hid their heads in the sand and acted as if their
software could not be improved? At least the known weaknesses in IE6
have been fixed! IE7 has so much bloat and useless crap built in that
there are far too many places for unknown holes to be. I am MUCH safer
using a product that has been in real use for as long as IE6 has than I
am some worthless garbage like IE7.

Can you show some kind of proof here to back up your claims?
