IE6 won't display the favicon

For some reason I can't see my favicon when using IE via my Intranet or the
Internet yet I observe it in the Favorites.
It is not a good feeling when I can see the favicon using Firefox and the
favicon was initially proprietary to IE.

Does anybody have any clue why I can't see my favicon when using IE6?

Hi clintonG :)

You might try the following and see if it helps:

Favicons not showing or lost

Some ISPs and webhosts don't support favicons. Contact yours to find out if
it does. If it doesn't, ask it to start supporting favicons. Most ISPs and
webhosts now support favicons

also, you can save the permanently with the following:

Preserve the favicons using AM-Deadlink:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/ie/favicon.htm

or...

Favicons are only temporary until cleared from your cache. To set them to be
permanent do the following:
FavOrg-PCMag:
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1558477,00.asp

and...

You can also try FavInocizer, here:
http://www.codeproject.com/tools/faviconizer.asp?target=favicons I've used
this and it's quite good,. It will actually find about a third more than
FavOrg does (since it checks for referenced URL's), but lacks some of the
other cababilites of FavOrg, Recommended.

Hope this helps
