IE6 won't connect to Internet

It attempts to look up the nonlocal URL on 127.0.0.1 (my computer). It then
reports that server cannot be found. IE6 works OK on local files (files on
my HDD).

Reinstalling it was no help.

It is fully up to date with security patches, including the SP1 CD and all
subsequent patches.

I installed Mozilla to see if it would work. It works fine.

Can anyone help?

Never mind. Right after I posted this Windows Update offered a patch to fix
that very problem.

It fixed it.
