IE6 will not launch

When I attempt to start IE6 I get the proverbial error
message: IE has encountered ... inconvience. The error
signature contains AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106 ModName:
webband.dll ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00004e30.
Once the error report has been sent, IE closes. Outlook
Express and Netscape both work just fine.
I have downloaded and installed Windows XP SP1a and have
updated and run Ad-Aware, Spybot and Norton. Windows
updates have been kept up to date.
Any ideas?

spywareinfo.com evaluates this as a variant of the nn_bar listed below.
A good resource to find the { CLSID I.D. } associated with these programs.

Use pestpatrol or these tools to remove.
Get AdAware and SpyBot and run them both. Keep them up to date.
